Headteacher's Welcome from Mr Yates
Dear Parents, Carers and the wider Manor Lodge family,
My name is Greg Yates and I am the proud Headteacher of this wonderful school in the heart of a vibrant, Sheffield community.
I have served at Manor Lodge since September 2017 when I arrived as Assistant Headteacher. I have loved working here alongside our brilliant children, staff and community in that time and am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead the school as Head from September 2023.
At Manor Lodge, we endeavour to ensure that every child has the best possible education so that they have the skills, knowledge, qualities and values that they will need to reach their full potential in life.
Our curriculum is built around developing the children's learning behaviours and around our school's values - which we are currently refining these alongside our Pupil Council, Staff Team and Parent Community. We also aim for all children at Manor Lodge to enquire about the world, celebrate diversity and be aspirational in their outlooks.
Our links with the local community are strong and we take pride in collaborating with a range of community services such as: Dovercourt Doctors' Surgery; the Manor and Castle Development Trust; the Whitehouse Clinic and our family of other local schools.
Manor Lodge is also part of the South East Sheffield Trust (SSET) - a hugely collaborative set of schools with the common goal of raising the life chances and experiences of all our pupils. We are hugely proud to work as part of a team of schools to ensure that all children are given every opportunity to enjoy learning and to thrive in a happy, stimulating and vibrant community school. This was verified by our Ofsted Report in November 2019.
Our website aims to provide parents, carers and families at Manor Lodge an insight to their child’s school but we also use an app called Class Dojo which provides regular and up-to-date information from our classes; office team and Senior Leadership. Class Dojo provides snapshots of children's exciting learning experiences and celebrations into their learning. Once enrolled, each parent; grandparent or significant adult can join this group.
If you have any further questions or require additional information, please email enquiries@manorlodge.sheffield.sch.uk and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Best Wishes,
Mr Yates
