Is your child still developing their pencil grip and control? This document gives some insight into the stages your child goes through when learning pre- writing skills.

Are you trying to help your child do some writing at home? This document explains how we teach writing in Reception and gives you some tips for supporting your child when they are writing at home.

This is a list of tricky words to practise. Remember to practise reading the words first. Once you can read them you can practise spelling them by doing "look, say,cover, write, check".

Handwriting. This sheet shows you how to form letters correctly. Children need to practise writing letters again and again until they can do it without thinking about it. Then they can concentrate on spelling when they are writing sentences.
